Hello, creator!

Thank you for taking the time to make something for me this fall season, and I’m so excited to see what you come up with. I hope it gives you some guidance (but only as much as you want!)

GENERAL

Spooky/Seasonal tag: I’m into horror (psychological over gore, but good gore can certainly amplify the former), supernatural, cartoonish spookiness, Aesthetic Spooks that aren’t really spooky at all, urban fantasy, apple orchards, state fairs, rainy months heading into winter, seasonal baking, dress-up, people loving Halloween and all things spooky, people being underwhelmed by totally bogus commercialized holidays (except, who’s that, standing on the hill?), harmless teenage nonsense, Heathers-level teenage nonsense… Just about every trope you can imagine, I’m into it!

While writing up my prompts, I felt like I started to get a little one-note at times (vampires and werewolves and ghosts in fall!!!), but if you come from a different Halloween or supernatural tradition (or are just more creative than I am), I’d absolutely love to learn about it. I care a lot more about immersion than a list of expectations being checked off.

I try to keep my fandom notes fandom-specific, but please feel free to mix and match when it comes to my general likes and such!

Art likes: oversaturation, contrast, color blocking; tender moments (fingers brushing, kissing, holding hands, intense eye contact), atmosphere and settings; details and clutter

General likes: Relationship messiness (infidelity, rough patches in established relationships, break up-make up, codependency, us vs. the world etc.); physical or social isolation, loyalty and group dynamics; missing scenes; competency, characters owning their environments; FALL!!!

DNW: existential horror, apocalypse, massive natural disasters, or complete dystopias (isolated incidents fine); incest treated as normal or culturally accepted, intergenerational incest; gore or body horror, serious injury during or as the result of sex; gender or sex swap; impact play (spanking, caning, etc.); slavery; explicit underage sex (<16); unrequested poly; depictions of IRL bigotry; focus on IRL religion

Generally speaking, I'm not terribly squeamish—I know I have some violent canons or prompts here, and I'm totally comfortable with canon levels, or new events being added for plot purposes. Mostly what I'm not into is focusing on the injury or pain: someone getting stabbed and being in pain or moving slower because of it, for instance, is fine.
I am not interested in vivid descriptions of the damage it's doing or how it feels, or more OTT injuries.

REQUESTS

1917

Pairings: Tom Blake/William Schofield

Prompts

Given the nature of the canon, it feels weird to say that Blake and Schofield’s interactions were sweet, but… they were? I think part of why 1917 worked as well as it did was because of those moments where you could exhale. The “age before beauty” really killed me; Schofield was so aware of Blake’s relative youth and naivete, even through his bravery and bullheadedness, and I’d love to see that explored more, too.

Post-canon would also be really interesting, either canon-compliant PAIN and the feeling (or experience) of being haunted, or them maybe trying to adjust to something back in the real world — the trauma, the attitudes of the time, Schrodinger's Schofield's Family. (I'm into either the "sister and nieces route" or infidelity; please don’t villainize Mrs. Schofield either way.)

Every war is different: While I’m not as familiar with British military history, I’d be interested in how things would look different (or the same) in different wars through time. The US in Vietnam is a pretty obvious instance of fiction digging into the senseless horror or war, but hardly the only one.
Magnus Archives AU: The Slaughter! The Hunt! The Lonely!

The Adventure Zone

Dust

Pairings: Dylan Mathis/Errol Ryehouse, Jeremiah Blackwell/Dylan Mathis

Dylan Mpregis: I really aggressively “haha… unless”ed myself with the Jump Scare freeforms.
— “Pregnant and on the run” and “pregnant and trying to hide it from the enemy/monster” were the original tags that embedded this so deeply in my mind.
— Basically the build-up to canon, but also he’s pregnant, not that he can say anything to anyone, because he’s a Blackwell(/his twin sister’s fiance).
— Pre-canon where Jeremiah and Dylan are disgustingly Young and In Love and Gonna Do Something About It. And I’m not saying breeding kink. But.

A Live Boy: Still being politically minded, Errol just cannot (and will not!) allow himself to be seduced by the young, traumatized and clearly just rebounding Dylan Mathis. No. Just no. The scandal, it’s far too much. (They do it anyway.)

Weird West: I just really loved the world they set up in this mini-arc, so I’d love to see what things were like before or after the murder. More politics, more crime, more debt…

Amnesty

Pairings: Duck Newton/Sheriff Zeke Owens

Prompts

“It’s not sad.” I am so, so, so into class president, QB1, National Honors Society-ass Zeke being hopelessly in love with teenage burnout Duck. And I’m also very interested in watching it all fall apart, because Zeke may be eighteen-in-two-months but he is Ready to set the rest of his life up now, and Duck’s just like… chill. Alternatively it’s the 90s in West Virginia and maybe it wasn’t such a fun place to be fooling around with another guy. But maybe it’d be a bit better now.

Ducky the Bom-Bom Slayer: Maybe Duck accepts—or at least can’t avoid—his fate a bit earlier and gets caught up in the Pine Guard. So does Zeke, the try-hard goodie two-shoes. Cue reluctant allies to boyfriends!

big... dumb dragon — pocketss

Can be found here!

Pairings: Great Wyrm & Their Followers

I just this was an incredibly cute little bit of horror-ish comedy. I’d love to know more about the religious group and how it came to worship this totally very great, very powerful wyrm, what their daily lives look like…

To steal from my Jump Scare requests: In-Universe Lore and Myth, Crisis of Faith, Scary But Have Fun With It, telling scary stories, in-universe nonfiction text, Horrific for character but not for reader, Pre-Canon, Horror Comedy, folk horror, First Contact Goes Bad, Dark Rites, Curses, Character Forced to Face Their Worst Fear, demon worship runs in the family and now it is time to bring the demon to earth

Get Some — Ghosted

Here!

Pairings: Samantha/Jeff, Samantha/Mean Girls

Prompts

Boy Meets Wolf: This music video has so much story packed into it and I love it all. Did Samantha lure them out there, knowing she could strike back/also pick herself up a new underling boyfriend? Did she pull an Every Werewolf at Some Point and forget where in the cycle she was at?

Samantha’s Meaner: Meal Girls take advantage, Samantha gets her revenge.

Get Some: Also, the song is great. Let Samantha get laid at some shitty party at someone she barely knows’ house, no strings attached.

Goth Night — HamletMachine

Here!

Pairings: Leather Goth/Collared Goth

This pic is just a big ol’ [eyes emoji] for me. The sprawled open posture of Collard Goth! That chill gaze and possessive hand of Leather Goth! Piercings! GOTHS!!!

I don’t really have specific prompts, but I’m super into what else these two could have going on. And, again stealing from my Jump Scare freeforms: Vampire Sex, telling scary stories, The Worst (drug) trip ever, Traumatized Into Codependency, unhealthy relationship, Trapped in Funhouse, Sharing a bed because they're safer together than apart, The Setting Wants You to Stay; Slowly You Do Too, Seduction to the Dark Side, pleasure from pain, On the run while high, Leaning Into The Spooky/Creepy Aesthetic That You Accidentally Picked, Hand & Finger Kink, creepy lover, come on baby make it hurt so good, Drug Use

A lot of those are tilted toward dark on account of Jump Scare’s theme, but I’d also be thrilled with them just having a great time with each other.

The Lighthouse

Pairings: Tommy Howard/Real Ephraim Winslow

Basically, I’d like The Lighthouse: The Loghouse; this movie was such a miserable, twisted, desperately horny ride, and I’d love to see the same thing happening up in Hudson Bay, or at least parts of it. What drove Tommy north? Did he try as hard to start on the right foot? Did Original Winslow try as hard to tear him down? Did the tension between them have a weird, intense sexual edge right up until the end? I feel like we know the answer to those last two.

I don’t usually like dealing with religion head-on, but if you wanted to do something with Catholicism and Tommy’s desperate urge to confess and him getting all sexily torn up a la St. Seb, I would be deeply unopposed.

Waived DNWs: IRL bigotry (except racism), IRL religion, body horror

Night in the Woods

Pairings: Angus Delaney/Greggory Lee, Mae Borowski & Casey Hartley, Mae Borowski & Bea Santello, Mae Borowski & Greggory Lee, Mae Borowski/Bea Santello

Finally got the chance to play this a few months ago and I absolutely adored everything about it. It being a half-step apart from ours but still feeling just so real makes it just so exciting to go exploring in more.

Weird August: This just fits so well into the season, I’m about to start a replay even though I just finished playing it in June (usually, I never replay something before it’s been so long I’ve forgotten all of it). So give me more Halloween in Possum Springs! More traditions! Pranks!
Myth Making: I’d love something along the lines of Longest Night—more telling each other stories, being immersed in one's own culture—or spending more time in the library or historical places, digging deeper into the cult’s beliefs, how things got to the point they did.

And a few more choice Jump Scare freeforms: 24 hr convenience store in a really weird neighborhood AU (“AU”), dreams bleeding into reality, Forest Is Dark and Mysterious and Possibly Sentient But Definitely Out to Get Us, In-Universe Lore and Myth, Pranks and Practical Jokes, Telling scary stories that turn out to be real, Losing Confidence in the Belief that the Monster is Really Dead Over Time, Investigating The Evil Cult

Re: my IRL bigotry DNW, I understand that homophobia has clearly affected Angus/Gregg and Mae to some extent, so please don't feel obligated to eradicate it from this universe, but I'd still prefer for nothing major to happen within the plot of the story.

Red Dead Redemption

Pairings: John Marston/Arthur Morgan, John Marston & Arthur Morgan, Jack Marston & John Marston, Arthur Morgan & Charles Smith, Arthur Morgan/Charles Smith, Sadie Adler & Arthur Morgan

The Gang as Pack/Coven/Group of Supernatural Beings of Your Choice: I loved the codependent little circle the gang maintains, right up until things started to fall apart, and I think it’d work really well with
— Dutch and Hosea were just Lestat-and-Louising it up until they found Arthur, and Dutch just had to turn him. And Miss Grimshaw. And—listen, it’s working out for them, isn’t it?
— Van de Lindes vs. O’Driscolls = werewolves vs. vampires (or vice versa, or whatever else)

The Road AU: Yes, the Cormac McCarthy one (or, well, I haven’t seen the movie, but I imagine it’d work just fine as a source as well.) The idea of John and Jack as the father and son jumped in my head recently, and now I want it. Apocalypse DNW obviously does not apply for this prompt.

The Vampire of St. Denis and other such canon oddities. Feel free to expand upon what’s already there or build your own for them to stumble upon.

Monster Hunting as Bounty Hunting: It’s an honest way to earn some money… or is it?
— Someone gets changed, and it challenges some preconceived notions. Or maybe it doesn’t matter that they’re still them, and now they have to run.
— No one gets changed, but the hunter’s conscious gets more and more unsure about what they’re doing.

Re: my IRL bigotry DNW, I understand that it'd be pretty hard-to-impossible to write about how Charles got where he did without any racism in the world, so please don't feel obligated to go that far, but I'd still prefer for nothing major to happen within the plot of the story.

Tri Phi — Molly Stanard

Here!

Pairings: Demon Girl & New Pledges, Ghost Girl/Her Internet Girlfriend, Werewolf Girl/Mummy Girl & Their Dogs, Vampire Girl/Werewolf Girl, Zombie Girl/Roommate Whose Things She Ate, Witches & The Eldritch Being They Summoned

These illustrations build up SO MUCH happening all at once, and I just want to hear all about this house and all the girls who live in it and the campus it’s on. I’d really prefer that this mostly be fun, but I’d love a campy approach to sorority girls and scary (“scary”) movies and tropey set-ups along those lines.

And while it’s a bit corny of me, but I do genuinely love the #sisterhood where, even if they have petty roommate problems or species rivalries, they still have each other’s backs against, like, their annoying brother frat’s pranks or there being a home invader during a thunderstorm or Prof. Frankenstein’s finals always being the stuff of nightmares

One last set of Jump Scare freeforms: Scary But Have Fun With It, telling scary stories, Sketchy Carnivals, Pranks and Practical Jokes, pranks gone wrong, Belated Realization That Your Jerk "Friends" Tricked You Into This Horrifying Situation, Characters Wander Into The Extra Creepy Part Of The Cursed Forest, Crack Treated Semi-Seriously, It Was A Dark And Stormy Night, man eating lesbians strike again, Monsters Having A Swell Time, Would-Be Bad Guy Underestimates Target
